A tradução no campo jornalístico

Description

Participation in a seminar for Master's students enrolled in the program in Translation Studies from the Faculty of Human Sciences (Universidade Católica Portuguesa), by invitation of the responsible professor, Rita Bueno Maia. The lecture had the following aims: (i) talk with the students about their visit to the Portuguese news agency Lusa on the week before, and understand which main characteristics they would point out on the agency's journalistic work with the use of translation; (ii) compare with the results gathered in the study that I developed in the aim of my PhD thesis in the field, and clarify how researchers can analyze news contents in light of Translation Studies; (iii) present the main aspects of Esperança Bielsa and Susan Bassnett's book Translation in Global News, which is a pioneer work about the sphere and, thus, an important reference for any researcher.
