From phytoremediation to energetic crop: the case of maize

Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

Description

Phytoremediation is an environmentally friendly technology that makes use of plants with the ability to remove pollutants from soil. Maize is a plant presenting the capacity to uptake heavy metals from soil, being at the same time a well-known energetic crop. The generation of energy, as biomethane, from phytoremediation-derived maize has been investigated as a promising strategy to contribute to the present renewable energy necessities.
