Questões de conservação

Description

The exhibition presents works that form part of the vast collection of drawings at FBAUP, organized according to the questions that arise from the specific point of view of their conservation: if in some of them there is or indicates a certain degree of aging of the materials and supports, what simple care can prevent or slow down, in others, the nature of the materials used determines an accelerated degradation that is impossible to stop or reverse. The exhibition models themselves or the storage methods associated with the characteristics of the pieces may constitute risk factors and favor the appearance of damage. The use, in the production of several of the exhibited works, of new materials and techniques whose behavior over time is still unknown implies specific and regular monitoring.
