Translators' literacy: the (personal) 'backstage' of news translation

Which skills are demanded to news translators, distinguishing them from other professionals of translation and, perhaps, justifying why younger or less experient translators are not usually (at least, not immediately) associated such kind of work? In other words, what is the specific literacy of news translators? This study was based on RTP's (the Portuguese national broadcaster) news translation subdepartment, having focused exclusively on interviews applied to the five professional translators dedicated to such a specific translational work at the company.
