Description

Responsible for the activity “Link the Seed to the Plant and the Plant to the Origin,” focused on legumes, their ecosystem services, and their relevance in the current agricultural, environmental, and global context. Designed and delivered interactive sessions for high school students, beginning with guided discussions to assess prior knowledge about legumes: What is a legume?, What do you associate with legumes? or What is your favourite legume dish?. Introduced the definition and importance of legumes, including their role in nitrogen fixation and environmental sustainability, and explained key ecosystem services provided by legume-based systems. Guided participants through an ecosystem services mapping game, where students explored legumes from different regions of the world, linked seeds to plant origins, and identified environmental and agricultural benefits described in each example. Promoting awareness of the environmental and nutritional benefits of legumes and encouraging greater recognition and consumption.
