DescriptionA survey by Acessa São Paulo – the state's digital inclusion program – shows that users are learning through social networking sites. The 2007 discovery boosted research into the profile and behavior of adults and teenagers on social networks. The investigation was carried out in the city of São Paulo and in Bragança Paulista, in the interior of the state, by Escola do Futuro, USP's research center. "Social networks are relationship sites with a profile, where everyone can see friends of friends. Their use by teenagers determines the way they relate to people and there is a totally new cultural production being born there", summarizes the coordinator of the Observatório da Digital Culture and responsible for the research, Cacau Freire.
