    Biography

    Adélio Fernando Abreu got his degree in Theology from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (1995). He concluded his “Licenza in Storia Ecclesiastica" by Pontificia Università Gregoriana, Rome (2002) where he also concluded his "Dottorato in Storia Ecclesiastica" (2008). Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Theology (Universidade Católica Portuguesa). Integrated researcher at the Centre of Religious History Studies (Centro de Estudos de História Religiosa) - Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP-CEHR); and a member of the ongoing “The History of the Portuguese dioceses”. Main areas of interest: history of Christianity in contemporary times, particularly in its relationship with liberalism, as well as its pastoral agents and its diocesan organisation.
