Biography

Alexandra Esteves has a PhD in Contemporary History. She is an Assistant Professor with Aggregation at the Department of History at the University of Minho, an integrated researcher at the research center Laboratory of Landscapes, Heritage and Territory (Lab2PT) of the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Minho and a collaborating researcher at the Center for Philosophical and Humanistic Studies at Portuguese Catholic University. In recent years, his research activity has focused on subjects that are part of Contemporary Social History, namely health, disease, epidemic crises, assistance, marginality, violence and prisons, as well as the History of Tourism, including issues related to leisure and sociability, between the 18th and 20th centuries.
