Biography

Alyse Fan is a first-year PhD student in Culture Studies at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, continuing her academic pursuit of literature and music. She obtained an Associate of the Royal Schools of Music in Piano Performance (2024) and an MA in Romantic Literature, University of Leeds (2017) with a dissertation titled ‘The Song from the Light-winged Dryad of the Trees: Keats, Organicism, and Music’ that was awarded the Charles Barber Prize. Her research focuses on Romanticism and its influence on modern culture, poetry and poetics of John Keats, and exilic poetry in the twentieth century Macau and Hong Kong.
