Mª Amélia Dias Ferreira is a Head Nurse at the Local Health Unit of Matosinhos, Pedro Hispano Hospital, Intensive Care Unit.

Degree in Nursing with a specialty in Medical-Surgical Nursing from the Catholic University of Portugal, Faculty of Human Sciences - Braga.

Masters in Disaster Medicine, from the University of Porto, Institute of Biomedical Sciences Professor Abel Salazar - Porto.

Post-Graduation in Medical Legal Sciences by the University of Porto, Institute of Biomedical Sciences Professor Abel Salazar - Porto.

Post-Graduation in Health History by the Portuguese Catholic University, Faculty of Social Sciences - Braga.

PhD in Nursing with a specialty in History and Philosophy in Nursing from the Catholic University of Portugal, Institute of Health Sciences - Porto.

Guest Lecturer at the Institute of Health Sciences of the Catholic University of Portugal - Porto.

Collaborating Researcher at the Nursing Research Platform of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Health of the Catholic University of Portugal.

Between 1999 and 2014 she was the nurse responsible for the Medical Vehicle and Resuscitation of the Pedro Hispano Hospital.

Since September 2018 she is Coordinator of the Disaster Committee of the Local Health Unit of Matosinhos.
