Biography

I hold a position as a researcher at CEPCEP and CECC and I have been appointed as an invited Assistant Professor at the Catholic University. At the University of Lisbon and at the University of Macao, I taught as well. I did my master's degree in Lusophone and Asian Studies at the University of Macao with the thesis "Confluences and cultural divergences in the Portuguese and Chinese folk-tales tradition and in the images referring to the family in two of the respective collections of popular tales". The University of Macao and the Catholic University, in Portugal publish it. I did my PhD on "Images of women in Portuguese periodicals from 1820 to 1890. Paths of modernity", already published in 2005. I have several articles and books published, the last two being "Women and Associativism in Portugal (1914-1974)" ["Mulheres e associativismo em Portugal (1914-1974")], in 2022, and "Elisa Curado (1858-1933), A woman of causes. Study and Anthology" ["Elisa Curado (1858-1933), uma mulher de causas. Estudo e antologia"], in 2023, among others. My participation in multiple projects, conferences, and colloquia is extensive: I have been participating in several international research projects, many funded by foreign institutions, and in scientific colloquiums across the globe as well, namely in China, Macao, Brazil, Mozambique, the United Kingdom, India, Germany and France.  Gender studies, traditional literature and Eastern studies are my areas of interest.
