Ana Lúcia Carvalho is a Luso-Angolan screenwriter with a BA in Cinema and a Master’s degree in Communication, Cinema and Television. She wrote and directed the short film "A Pedra" - an adaptation of the short story A Libélula by the Angolan writer Ondjaki - a project selected for several festivals such as Avanca Film Festival (Portugal, 2016); Caminhos do Cinema Português- Ensaios selection (Portugal, 2016); Allucinema Fest - Fiction category (Mexico, 2016); Amazon Underground Film Festival (Brazil, 2016); Blackbird Film Festival (USA, 2017); São Tomé Festfilm (São Tomé, 2017); Olhares do Mediterrâneo - Cinema no Feminino (Portugal, 2017) and SHORTCUTZ Lisboa (Portugal, 2019), among others. She is a PhD student in Communication Sciences at the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) and is currently part of the Portuguese team of the Ibero-American Television Fiction Observatory (OBITEL). In 2022 she wrote of the series Praxx (a SIC and Santa Rita Filmes co-production), nominated for “Best Project” at the 2023 Portuguese Golden Globes and winner of Quinto Canal award in the “Best Author” category. In 2023 he was part of writing crew of the series “Os Eleitos” (Opto SIC).
