Biography

Ana Maria C. M. Jorge was born in Vimeiro, Lourinhã in 1962. PhD degree in Historical Sciences (Medieval History) at the Leuven Catholic University in 1998. She obtained the equivalence to the PhD degree in Humanities (Medieval History) in the Faculty of Letters - University of Lisbon, in 2000. She has a graduation in History from the Faculty of Letters – University of Lisbon. Assistant Professor in the Portuguese Catholic University, where she teaches Church History. Director of the Faculty of Theology since 2018. Member of the Centre of Religious History Studies since 1987 . Member of the Board of the same centre between 1995 and 2011, its Deputy Director, between 2001 and 2006 and its Director between 2007 and 2010. Member of the Portuguese Society of Medieval Studies and Member of the Scientific Society of the Portuguese Catholic University. She participated in several international events and research projects.
