André Baltazar is the Vice-Dean of the School of Arts at Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), where he has been leading the academic unit since 2018. He has a PhD in Science and Technology of the Arts, and a Master in Electrotechnical and Computers Engineering, with a specialization in Telecommunications and Multimedia.

He is passionate about bridging the gap between academia and industry, and developing innovative solutions and services in the field of digital and interactive art. He is also the Director of the Digital Creativity Center at UCP, which provides infrastructure for development of applied research in new media art and artistic technology consultancy. He has extensive experience in computer music, interactive technology programming, new business development, artistic and scientific research. He aims to foster a culture of excellence, creativity, and collaboration at the School of Arts and beyond.
