Biography

Brian Jay de Lima Ambulo is a PhD Candidate in Culture Studies at The Lisbon Consortium, and a recipient of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) Fellowship under the Ministry for Science, Technology and Higher Education in Portugal. He received his BA degree in History from the University of the Philippines, and his International Master's in Dance Knowledge, Practice, and Heritage under the Erasmus+ Choreomundus Programme from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway); University of Clermont Auvergne (France); University of Szeged (Hungary); and University of Roehampton, London (United Kingdom). Brian is an award-winning operations officer, researcher, and creative with a track record in government, academic research, performing arts, and the cultural and creative industries. He continuously navigates the junction between governance, culture, and creativity for social impact as he writes his PhD dissertation entitled Our Future is Culture: Imaging, Managing, and Imagining Creative Placemaking in Post-Disaster Philippines.
