Biography

Cátia Tuna holds a PhD in History by School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (2020) and a Master's Degree in Theology by Faculty of Theology of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (2012). Her douctoral thesis received the «Mário Soares Foundation - EDP Foundation Award» and the «Victor de Sá Award in Contemporary History» both in the year 2020; it was on the theme «"I don't know whether I'm singing or praying": cultural and religious ambivalences of Fado music (1926-1945)». The master's dissertation was entitled «The voice in the Bible: the path of understanding the voices of God and man from the literary-theological concepts qôl and fonê». She was a doctoral fellow of the Foundation for Science and Technology (2013-2017). She is invited assistant professor of Faculty of Theology of Universidade Católica Portuguesa and integrated researcher of the Centre of Religious History Studies (UCP-CEHR). In addiction to academic work, she has a musical activity as singer and composer.
