Biography
Carlos Natálio is a film researcher, curator and writer. He is an invited Assistant Professor and hired researcher at the School of the Arts, Universidade Católica Portuguesa. At the moment he teaches History of Cinema and Film Criticism. He is a film curator for IndieLisboa since 2018. He was also invited to co-create the concept and first film program for Programa Escolas at Batalha Centro de Cinema. He was also the invited commissioner, by the same institution, for the research of the state of Education and Cinema in Portugal in 2022-23. He is one of the founders, editors and film critics of the film criticism and cinephilia website, À pala de Walsh. He is the author of several pedagogical books, in collaboration with different international and national film education projects (CinEd, Shortcut, PNC, Filhos de Lumière, INSERT). PhD in Communication Sciences from the university NOVA in Lisbon. At the moment, he is the Vice President of AIM- the Association of Moving Image Researchers.
