Carlos Manuel de Morais Seixas Pires Sardinha was born in Portalegre (Portugal) in 1977. Graduate in Law (2000), Master in Law (2003) and Ph.D. in Law (Legal Historical Sciences) (2010), Catholic University of Portugal, Lisbon School of Law, where he works as Professor of Law. Visiting Researcher, Institut für Rechtsgeschichte und geschichtliche Rechtsvergleichung, University of Freiburg (Freiburg, Germany), (2005-2008, 2009, 2010), Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin (Berlin, Germany) (2012, 2013), Dag Hammarskjöldbiblioteket (Uppsala, Sweden) (2014), Koninklijke Bibliotheek (The Hague, The Netherlands) (2014, 2017), Leiden University Library (Leiden, The Netherlands) (2014), Amsterdam University Library (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) (2015), Instituut voor oorlogs-, holocaust- en genocidestudies (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) (2015), Nasjonalbiblioteket (Oslo, Norway) (2016), William Cullen Library, University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg, South Africa) (2017), Nationaal Archief (The Hague, The Netherlands) (2017).
