Carmelina Leite, PharmD, PhD, is an Invited Assistant at FMD-UCP, and an Integrated Researcher at the CIIS-Viseu.

Carmelina Leite has a Degree of Pharmacy Technician (2002, Polytechnic Institute of Porto), MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2010, University of Porto – UP), MSc in Bioinformatics (2016, Federal University of Minas Gerais), and PhD in Bioinformatics (2020, Federal University of Minas Gerais).

Her research interests are in the field of Health Sciences and Bioinformatics, particularly on Data-Mining techniques. During her PhD, she developed a method for proposing new and repurposed drugs, using a modified logistic regression, which allowed the use of more features than individuals. She also has interests in extension projects and knowledge transfer. She published articles and presented her work in conferences and seminars. She also has patents as an inventor and as an owner, having participated in national and european innovation programs
