Biography

Has a PhD in Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto, and carried out a Thesis on psychology and judicial decision in cases involving abused children. Has a graduation and a master in Psychology, from the same institution.
Specialist in Clinical and Health Psychology (Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses).
Has an advanced specialization in Psychology of Justice, in Forensic Psychology at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine and Forensic Sciences of Porto, institution with which has been collaborating in the Clinical and Training field, since 2001.
Lecturer at the Portuguese Catholic University of Porto – Faculty of Education and Psychology, teaching in the areas of psychological assessment in forensic context, psychology and justice and intervention with victims. Also teaches forensic psychology at the Law School - Portuguese Catholic University.
Member of the International Evidence-Based Investigative Interviewing Children Group - International Research and NICHD Forensic Intervention Protocol - National Institute of Child Health and Human Development - Coordinated by Professor Michael Lamb (University of Cambridge).
She is a Senior Researcher and coordinator in Portugal of the International Project FACT FOR MINORS - Fostering Alternative Care for Troubled Minors, funded by the European Commission.
She is author and co-author of several scientific publications (books, book chapters, articles in scientific journals) related to the themes of psychological evaluation in forensic context; psychological aspects of the judicial decision; forensic interview and child development, risk and adversity in childhood and adaptation of children to parental separation.
