Biography

Catarina Simões has been a nurse since 1998. She has been a PhD student in Nursing since 2020, she is a specialist nurse in Palliative Care and in Community Nursing. She holds a Master's degree in Oncology and has further expertise in this field, as well as a postgraduate degree in Bioethics and Palliative Care. Since 2018, she has been an adjunct professor at the Santa Maria Health School (Porto, Portugal). She has coordinated the Specialization Course in Community Nursing between 2018 and 2022 currently coordinates the postgraduate course in Palliative Care. She is Vice-President of the Pedagogical Council and sits on the Ethics Commission of the Santa Maria Health School and Luz Arrábida Hospital. She is on the Executive Committee of the International Collaborative for the Best Care for the Dying Person.
