Biography
I obtained a BSc in Genetics and Biotechnology (2013), an MSc in Technological and Comparative Molecular Genetics (2016), and a PhD in Chemical and Biological Sciences (2021), all from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD). From November 2020 to August 2021, I worked as a laboratory assistant, in the Amyris HandCare COVID19 project, in the Centre of Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (CBQF), where I obtained experience in developing and testing solutions that eliminate the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. From September 2021 to September 2023, I worked as a researcher in the SkinBiome platform team at Amyris BioProducts Portugal, under senior researcher Raquel Madureira. In this team I acquired experience in testing the impact of cosmetic ingredients/ formulations in the skin microbiota and skin parameters such as hydration, pH, TEWL, sebum and others, by planning and performing short and long in vivo assays. In November 2023, I started working in the Circulas project, a collaboration between the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and the company Biorbis.
