Biography

I have a degree In Biological Sciences (2009), Master (2013) and PhD (2017) in Genomic Sciences and Biotechnology from the Catholic University of Brasília (Brazil). During this time, I worked with anuran dermal transcriptome and with the structural and functional characterization of peptides isolated from frog skin with immunomodulatory properties. In 2017, I worked as a PhD visiting student at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Porto, working with cell culture and at the Department of Chemistry at the University of Aveiro working with Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). I was also able to do work at I3S in the Biomolecular Structural and Functional Group. Between 2018 and 2019 I was a pos-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Biology at the University of Brasília, where I worked with the metagenome of soils and of the insect gut microbiota. Between 2019 and 2021 I worked at IBMC (I3S) with protein expression and purification and with enzyme assays. Between 2022 and 2023 I was part of the Alchemy Project, a partnership between Amyris and the Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (CBQF), where I worked with in vitro assays testing senolytic compounds with potential for the skincare/cosmetic industry. Currently I work at Biorbis - CBQF - Universidade Católica Portuguesa, in the permeation team.
