Biography

Daniela Resende has a PhD in Animal Science, from ICBAS-UP, as part of the SANFEED programme, in collaboration with the company Sense Test. She has a MSc degree in Bioengineering (specialization in Biological Engineering) from FEUP. Daniela has worked with the application of bioactive compounds in food products and their nanoencapsulation to enhance their potential. In her PhD, her research focused on the application of by-products of the agri-food industry as sources of bioactive compounds for aquafeeds, evaluating their impact on fish growth, immune status, antioxidant defenses and nutritional value. Moreover, Daniela has worked with fish experimentation, particularly in growth, immune and digestibility experiments. Currently, her research focuses on the sustainability of the agrifood business.
