Personal profile
Biography
As an Orthopedic Resident at Hospital Litoral Alentejano in Portugal, I am excited to share my journey as a researcher and physician. During my MD/Ph.D., I specialize in studying the intervertebral disc degenerative sub-phenotype and exploring the link between natural aging, senescence, and regeneration processes. Currently, I am continuing my research in Dr. Makarand Ribud's lab at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University. Through my research and publications, I have gained valuable insights into the pathophysiology and regeneration processes associated with disc degeneration. My ultimate goal is to make a significant impact on the field of orthopedics and spine. With five first-author and four co-author publications, I am confident in my ability to continue making breakthroughs in these areas. I am passionate about bridging the gap between research and clinical practice, and I believe that my work may help to uncover some mysteries of back pain and disc degeneration.
