Biography
I am a researcher at CECC (Universidade Católica Portuguesa), within the group Critique, Conflict and Culture (CCC). She holds a PhD in Artistic Studies – Cinema and Audiovisual (University of Lisbon, 2010, Summa Cum Laude). My research focuses on Film and Moving Image Studies, with particular emphasis on cinematic space, landscape, and mobility. I specialise in Portuguese cinema, transnational genre studies, and road movie narratives. My work explores broader questions of migration, globalisation, ecology, and comparative visual cultures. I have have an extensive publication record, including books, peer-reviewed articles, and book chapters, and have co-edited academic volumes and journal issues. I have coordinated key research structures at CEComp-UL, including THELEME and the cluster Cinema and the World. I have participated in funded research projects supported by FCT and through institutional research contracts. I also have significant experience in higher education teaching (Portuguese Cinema, Film Analysis, Film Programming). In addition, I am active in supervision, academic juries, conference organisation, and public outreach activities with cultural institutions.
