I received my PhD in History from the University of Bologna "Alma Mater Studiorum" (2013). I worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Leiden University-Institute for History and I was FCT post-doctoral fellow at the Centro de Investigação Transdisciplinar Cultura, Espaço e Memória-Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto (CITCEM-FLUP). From March 2019, I am a researcher at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) and at Centro de Estudos de História Religiosa (CEHR). Since the academic year 2021-2022, I have been teaching History of Medieval Christianity (Licenciatura em Teologia) and History of Medieval Church (Mestrado Integrado em Teologia) at the Faculty of Theology (Campus Porto) of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. I have also taught History of Historiography at FLUP (academic year 2023-2024). My main research interest lies in the History of the Catholic Church in Italy and in the Iberian Peninsula between the eleventh and the thirteenth centuries.
