Francisca Guedes de Oliveira is an Assistant Professor at Católica Porto Business School of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She graduated from the University of Porto, where she also obtained her MSc in Economics and got her PhD from Nova School of Business and Economics, with specialization in Public Economy.
Her main areas of research and teaching are macroeconomics, political economics and public policy, areas where she taught various courses at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels and presented scientific papers in several international conferences as well as published in international journals like the Cambridge Journal of Economics.
Until September 2013 she was the director of the Master programme in Business Economics, and has since been the Associate Dean of Católica Porto Business School with responsibility for master's programs and faculty management.
Since 2016 she is part of the scientific and strategic council of the Institute of Public Policy Thomas Jefferson - Correia da Serra and also of the Scientific Council of the journal of the Portuguese Association of European Studies. She is also a founding member of the Portuguese Association of Political Economy.
Since 2015 she has been a non-executive member of EDPRenováveis' Board of Directors. Since 2017 She is a member of the Social and Economic Council as a membmer of recognized merit in the society. In 2019, on the invite of the Finance Minister , Francisca was the coordinator of the task force that produced a report on the evaluation of tax benefits in Portugal.
