Personal profile

Biography

I graduated in Nutrition Sciences (BSc) from the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences of the University of Porto, in 2012. Over the years, I have worked as a Nutritionist in different areas, namely, Clinical Nutrition, Public Health and Community Nutrition, as well as within the Food Industry sector regarding Quality and Food Safety Systems management. In 2015, I undertook a Graduate Course in Nutrition and Aging at the Faculty of Biotechnology of the Portuguese Catholic University (ESB-UCP) and in 2016 finished a Master's Degree in biotechnology and Innovation (Branch Human Nutrition) at the same institution, studying the relationship between food waste and nutritional status among Portuguese institutionalized elderly people. Parallelly, I worked as a research interviewer at the project PRONUTRISENIOR: a holistic approach to the older adults living in the community. From Out 2017 until Fev 2022 I was an FCT grant PhD student at ESB-UCP, studying diet sustainability. My PhD thesis was developed in the frame of the European project TRUE - TRansition paths to sUstainable legume-based systems in Europe, under the theme impact of a pulse-based partial replacement diet on human metabolome and health. Since then, my research work has continued to focus on sustainable diets with increasing Q1 publications regarding these matters.
