Biography

Helga Martins has a degree in Nursing and specialized in Community Nursing, Chronic Patients  and Critical Care. She also holds a postgraduate degree in Management and Clinical Supervision in Nursing. In 2022, she obtained a PhD in Nursing from Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Lisbon. Additionally, she completed a postdoctoral program in Integral Human Development at CADOS, Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She is a Assistant Professor and a member of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Health at Universidade Católica Portuguesa. In additon, she has published 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals. She has also contributed to five book chapters. Throughout her career, she has received several awards and honors. Her research focuses on vulnerable populations, spirituality, as well as the development of nursing diagnoses and assessment scales. In addition, she is dedicated to the study of Integral Human Development, transcultural care, chronic patients, Community health, Public health and EcoHealth.
