Biography

Ilídia Cabral is a PhD in Educational Sciences by the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) and has been an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FEP) of the same University since 2014. She is the Coordinator of the PhD Course in Educational Sciences and of the Support Service to the Improvement of Education, a service from FEP that provides consultancy to schools and other educational institutions with a view to their constant improvement and development. She is a founder and coordinator member of the Iberian Observatory of Educational Leadership (EDULID), which is a joint initiative of three universities of the Iberian Peninsula (International University of Catalonia; Autonomous University of Barcelona and Catholic University of Portugal) that aims at promoting and developing research and improvement projects on educational leadership, by fostering cooperation among universities and schools. She was the Principal Investigator of the Research Project EDUGEST – School Management and Improvement (2017-2019), financed by Belmiro de Azevedo Foundation. She has been a member of the Direction Board of the Research Centre for Human Development (2016-2019) and currently coordinates its research group “Educational Leadership and School Management”, which integrates doctoral students and researchers from FEP. Invited External Evaluator of the Portuguese General Inspection for Education and Science since 2016. Supervisor of master’s dissertations and Doctoral Thesis in Educational Sciences, with dozens of national and international publications in the same field. Her specific areas of interest are educational leadership and school management; school evaluation and improvement projects; assessment practices in educational contexts; professional and organizational development at school.
