Inês N. Ramos was originally born at Barcelos, Portugal in 1971. She came to live in Porto to obtain a degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Porto and in 2010 she concluded her PhD at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Food Science and Technology. She is a guest assistant professor since 2018, between 2003 and 2010 was a teaching assistant of Calculus I, Calculus II, Physics and Statistical Methods, at Escola Superior de Biotecnologia – Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Between 95 and 2003 she was a teacher at 3 level courses (EU).

She participated in 2 international and 2 national projects and was a member of 2 organizing Committees of international conferences. The PhD concerned modelling and simulation of grapes' solar drying and microstructure. She worked for 2 years in extension services for the food industry, 3 years in the European project ISEKI_Food and had a post-doctoral grant at Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Currently, she is a researcher at CBQF - Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry. She is particularly motivated by sustainable drying with renewable energies and environmental issues overall. She is the mother of a 21-year-old boy and has hobbies in music, cinema and handicrafts. She was an activist on climate change and is highly motivated by environmental issues.
