Biography

Inês Grilo Soares graduated from the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia (ESB-UCP) at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in 2022 with a Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Sciences. On the strength of this solid foundation, she proceeded to complete a postgraduate degree in Food Innovation in October 2024, thereby further developing her expertise in food development.
In line with this focus, Inês commenced her Master's in Science in Biotechnology and Innovation in October 2023, specialising in Food Science and Technology. This will enable her to deepen her knowledge and contribute to the advancement of the food sector. Additionally, she is currently enrolled in the postgraduate programme in Nutrition and Ageing, which focuses on understanding the specific nutritional needs of older populations and developing innovative food products to support healthy ageing.

Inês currently holds a research scholarship at the CBQF/ESB-UCP, contributing to the "Agenda VIIAFOOD - Plataforma de Valorização, Industrialização e Inovação Comercial para o Agroalimentar" project.

She is also a registered nutritionist with the Order of Nutritionists (licence number: 5702N) and is the lead nutritionist in the medium-term and rehabilitation units of the Hospital de Lousada, where she provides personalised nutritional support to patients.
