Biography
João holds a Master's degree in Bioengineering, a Specialization in Biomedical Engineering (FEUP) and a PhD in Animal Science (ICBAS-UP). He began his professional career at I3S - development of polymeric materials for medical materials, having later joined the Associated Laboratory for Green Chemistry (LAQV, REQUIMTE) - design of innovative nutraceuticals and submission of a European patent. He has been a guest speaker at national and international scientific meetings, participated in the publication and review of scientific articles and in teaching (FFUP). He was also a member of one of the finalist teams of the 10th iUP25 - Business Ideas Contest of the University of Porto. João will now join the CBQF, within the scope of the Integrated Project in the "VIIAFOOD Agenda – Platform for Valorization, Industrialization and Commercial Innovation for Agri-food", specifically in the sub-project "Sustainable & clean-label cured and cooked meat products.
