Biography
João Nuno Gonçalves is an Assistant Professor of Decision Analytics at Católica Porto Business School and Researcher at CEGE - Research Centre in Management and Economics. He holds a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering (Business Analytics) from University of Minho and his research focus is on the development of business analytics models to improve supply chain management (SCM). In this context, demand forecasting and sequential decision making are among his main areas of interest. His research work has been recognized with distinctions/prizes in the context of Operations Research and Supply Chain Management (OR&SCM), including the Logistics Excellence Award Academy 2022, awarded by the Portuguese Logistics Association (APLOG). During his teaching career, he has been distinguished (by 6 times) with pedagogical merit awards/distinctions as a lecturer in the areas of OR&SCM. In 2023, 2023 and 2024 he received the Diploma of Pedagogical Merit by the School of Engineering of the University of Minho.
