Biography

Jorge Fazenda Lourenço holds a PhD in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from the University of California at Santa Barbara (1993), and he is an Associate Professor of Literature at the Catholic University (Lisbon). He was the director of the Research Centre for Communication and Culture (2005-2012) and the scientific coordinator of the Master and PhD Programs in Culture Studies (2005-2008). He was also the editor of the Complete Work of Jorge de Sena (12 volumes, 2009-2016) and received the 2012 Jorge de Sena Award for Matéria Cúmplice (essays). He is a published poet and a translator of Charles Baudelaire, E. E. Cummings and Wallace Stevens. Research areas: Modern poetry; ageing and literature; the late works.
