Biography

José Miguel Sardica is an historian and Associate Professor with Aggregation at the Faculty of Human Sciences of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. His areas of research and teaching are Portuguese and international history of the 19th and 20th centuries, in the political, institutional, cultural, intellectual and communication/journalism fields. He is the author of around 125 book chapters and academic articles, and 18 books on different topics in contemporary Portuguese history. He has presented more than a hundred conferences and communications at national scientific events and also in Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Great Britain and the United States. He is a researcher at the Center for Communication and Culture Studies at the Faculty of Human Sciences, a professor at the Institute for Political Studies, as well as a columnist for Rádio Renascença, with a regular presence on radio and television programs, providing historical or current political commentary. He was Director of the Faculty of Human Sciences at UCP between 2012 and 2016 and is currently Director of the Interuniversity Doctoral Program in History and member of the Board of Directors of the Scientific Society of the Portuguese Catholic University.
