Luisa Almendra, is a University professor at Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She holds a Ph.D. in Biblical Theology (2005 - Universidade Católica Portuguesa, UCP | Pontifical Biblical Institute, PIB (Rome - Italy) and a Master's Degree in Biblical Sciences (1997 - Pontifical Biblical Institute, PIB | Rome Italy). She is a lecturer Senior of Old and New Testaments studies and Biblical Languages (Hebrew) at the Faculty of Theology (Catholic University of Portugal). She has published several essays on Biblical Wisdom Literature and is an active member of International Society for the Study of Biblical and Semitic Rhetoric (RBS); L'Association Catholique Française pour l'Étude de la Bible (ACFEB) and Society of Biblical Literature (SBL); where she has presented her research on Biblical Wisdom Studies (mainly on the Book of Job), applying to the Biblical Rhetoric Analysis. She has been an invited professor at Pernambuco Catholic University (UNICAP - Recife, Brazil) and at the Institut Catholique de Toulouse (ICT - Toulouse, France ). She is a full research member of the Research Center for Theology and Religion Studies and her research interests are mainly in Biblical Wisdom Literature; Biblical and Semitic Rhetoric; Biblical Intertextuality; Bible and Literature/Art. Recently, she was appointed as titular head of the Chair of Biblical Studies - Jewish and Christian | Isaac Abravanel - Damião de Góis.
