Biography

I'm an Assistant Professor at the Instituto de Ciências Sociais of the Universidade do Minho. I got a M.A. at the University of Montreal (Canada) (1999); a M.A. and PhD in Medieval History at the University of Lisbon (2004 and 2009) and developed between 2009 and 2014 a Post-Doctoral Project at the Institute for Medieval Studies (NOVA FCSH), Centre of Religious History Studies (Universidade Católica Portuguesa) and LAMOP (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and CNRS) concerning «The kingdom of Portugal and the interventionism of the Papacy of Avignon (1305-1377)». I taught Methodology, History of the Middle Ages and History of Culture and Mentalities in Medieval Portugal as guest assistant professor or lecturer of the History Department of the NOVA FCSH (2008-2009; 2011-2012; 2015-2016), where I regularly lecture to undergraduates and graduates. Between 2019 and January 2023 I was a Senior Research in ERC-funded project VINCULUM: Entailing Perpetuity: Family, Power, Identity. The Social Agency of a Corporate Body (Southern Europe, 14th-17th Centuries) [agreement ID 819734], whereby I pursued a new research path on Archival Sciences, divided between inquiry on entail archiving, teaching on History of archives and supervising PhD. I coordinated the Institute for Medieval Studies' RG «Territories and Powers» from 2014 to 2019 I participated in 7 research projects, 3 of which international.
