Biography

Mónica Oliveira completed the BSc's degree in Microbiology in 2017 and the Master's degree in 2020 in Applied Microbiology at the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia of Universidade Católica Portuguesa. During the practical part of the degree, she acquired knowledge related to the microbiological and biochemical analysis of extracts of propolis, a natural antimicrobial substance. In the practical part of the master's degree, she worked in food safety which allowed to work with several techniques, such as molecular microbiology, cell culture techniques, and antimicrobial techniques. She has participated in 3 poster presentations at scientific congresses and the results of the research work have already been disseminated to the scientific community through one book Chapter.
