Biography

Margarida Laranjeira Rocha is a Portuguese animator currently pursuing a PhD in Science and Technology of the Arts at the School of Arts, Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP). As a research trainee at the Research Centre for Science and Technology of the Arts (CITAR), within the Sound and New Media Arts (SNMA) group, she examines the potential of animation to represent intangible dimensions of reality, with a focus on how female authors navigate personal and political resistance. Outside academia, Margarida works as a freelance illustrator and 2D animator for advertising, music, and cinema. She specialises in 2D animation techniques, particularly digital cut-out and collage.
