Biography

Maria do Rosário Lupi Bello is Associate Professor and a senior member of CECC-UCP (Research Centre for Communication and Culture – Portuguese Catholic University). Within the CCC-Critique, Conflict and Culture line of research she has been directing, since 2019, the activities of the LCR (Literature, Cinema and Religion) Research Group, included in the CAR (Culture-Arts-Religion) Project, of which she is the coordinator, together with the researcher Suzie Marra. A lecturer at the Open University (Universidade Aberta) in Portugal, in the areas of Film Studies, Literature Theory and Interarts Studies, she has also taught at other universities, namely in Brazil (UNESP, PUC-SP and USP). She is the President of the Scientific Society of the Portuguese Catholic University (SCUCP), a member of the Editorial Board of that same university and the author of works such as Narrativa Literária e Narrativa Fílmica. O caso de “Amor de Perdição” (Lisbon, Fund. Calouste Gulbenkian, 1st ed. 2005, 2nd ed. 2008) and Tempo e Narrativa no Cinema de Manoel de Oliveira (Lisbon, Tinta da China, 2022), the latter of which was recently presented at the 26th International Book Biennial in São Paulo/Brazil. Her research interests are: Film Studies, Literature Theory, Comparative Literature, Interarts Studies and Portuguese Literature.
