Biography

Maria dos Anjos dos Santos Fernandes Luís was a secondary school teacher of History at the Escola Básica de Ribamar, which belongs to the D. Lourenço Vicente school grouping in Lourinhã. Maria dos Anjos Luís received her graduate degree in History, in 1982, from Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa, and a masters degree in Local and Regional History at the Alexandre Herculano Institute, of the same University, with the thesis “Vivências Religiosas e Comportamentos Sociais - as Visitas Pastorais à Lourinhã no século XVII” (“Religious living and social behaviours- the pastoral visitations to Lourinhã in the XVII century”), in 2010. On September 14, 2022, she concluded his PhD thesis in Modern History, at Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra, with the thesis "Reforma Católica e Clero Secular no Arciprestado de Torres Vedras (1523-1643)" ("Catholic reform and Secular Clergy in the Archpriest of Torres Vedras (1523-1643)"). She is a member of the Centro de Estudos de História Religiosa da Universidade Católica Portuguesa, since 2014.
