Maria Lima Martingo, with a Master’s (MSc) degree in Biomedical Engineering is now Research Fellow in Center for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry. She is distinguished by her commitment and dedication to research and development, boosted by her motivation and convictions. An outgoing, dynamic, proactive and autonomous person, she is driven by societal causes and by the scientific vision as a crucial solution tool for sustainable progress and innovation. From her initiation into scientific research, she has acquired multidisciplinary expertise, with particular focus on the area of health and food sciences. As a result of her academic path, she has received outstanding final classifications, became a research fellow right after she ended up her bachelor’s degree. In this opportunity, she has been working with extraction processes, using by-products from the food industry to design new formulations, both biomedical and food. Maria has one international peer reviewed book chapter as first author, one research article in submission process and and two papers in working progress related with her research fellowship. She has also an oral presentation in a scientific meetings, as well as being member of organising committee, and an integral member of different social and scientific bodies which demonstrate her dynamic spirit, leadership, and teamwork skills.
