Biography

Member of the research group Cognition and Translatability of the Research Centre for Communication and Culture. Is one of the scientific coordinators and the technical coordinator of the ongoing project "Intercultural Literature in Portugal 1930-2000: a Critical Bibliography". Holds a 2-year post-graduation course in Translation (English and German) and a PhD in Translation Studies from Universidade de Lisboa (2006), with the dissertation "On the Great War narratives translated into Portuguese". Has also participated in the project "Translation and Censorship in Portugal during Estado Novo". Has co-organised national and international conferences and co-edited several volumes on Translation Studies. Main reasearch interests: translation, pseudotranslation, censorship. Has published some literary translations, namely texts by Kafka and Thomas Mann.
