Biography

Maria Pena Ermida is a researcher currently pursuing her PhD in Law of the Sea at Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law. She is a member of the coordination council of the Lisbon Section of the Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law. She is integrated in the Sea the Future research line and develops research in ocean governance, namely concerning the topics of resource management in areas beyond national jurisdiction. She has published  articles on different issues of law of the sea and environmental law, namely fisheries, marine environmental protection and underwater cultural heritage. In addition she has collaborated with NGOs and Foundations globally, serving as a legal consultant and policy advisor for Ocean governance.
