Biography
Maria Vânia Silva Nunes holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences (Neurosciences), a master's degree in Neuroscience from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the same University. She is a specialist in Neuropsychology and Psychogerontology accredited by the Portuguese Psychologists Association. As an associate professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing of the Portuguese Catholic University, she coordinated the Master's program in Neuropsychology for several years and is currently one of the coordinators of the Master's program in Cognitive and Behavioral Neurosciences. Over the years, she has been responsible for various disciplines related to Neuropsychology and Neuroscience, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, has submitted different educational projects, participated in research projects, supervised academic research, and developed research projects in the following areas: Aging and dementias; Cognitive Reserve and Dementia Prevention; Stimulation in Dementia and Rehabilitation of Acquired Brain Injury. For several years, she was the national coordinator for the Elderly and Dependent area of the Portuguese Red Cross. She has supervised dozens of master's dissertations and has supervised three completed doctoral theses. She has numerous published works, as well as book chapters and educational material.
