Biography

Mariana Godinho holds a bachelor degree in Biotechnology from the Coimbra Agriculture School (ESAC-IPC) and a Master in Microbiology at the University of Aveiro. In 2021, she got a research grant at ESB-UCP under the scope of project GO-BIOCHORUME, where she was involved on the monitorization of several plant biometric parameters of two fast-growing species, Paulownia and Populus established in an experimental field. At the end of 2022, she got a research grant at ESB-UCP under the scope of project PhySUDOE where she was mailny resposible for the processing and analysis of metallophyte plants. She also had the opportunity to collaborate in other projects related to the effects of bioinoculants in vineyards and to the molecular identification of culturable bacterial strains isolated from a floating island. More recently she got a research grant at UA under the scope of project Q-AD4PurePort, where her current focus is the characterization of the volatile profile of grape spirits and Port wines. During her short career, she presented several posters and oral communications in scientific conferences and she has also participated in seminars and workshops, as well as in outreach activities, namely in the preparation of the activity "Microplastics accumulation in the oceans" for high school students under the scope of the BIOFASE program at ESB-UCP. Her main areas of interest in research are concentrated on agricultural and food biotechnology, focused on the use bioinoculant formulations and their beneficial effect on plant growth under different environmental conditions (e.g. drought, salinity).
