Biography

Marisa Carvalho is an Assistant Professor at Universidade Católica Portuguesa and researcher at the Research Centre for Human Development. She was awarded her PhD in Psychology in 2013 from Universidade do Minho and in Educational Sciences at Universidade Católica Portuguesa in 2020. She has developed research on inclusive education, innovative practices in education, school improvement and school strategic action and planning, has published papers about these issues and participated in national recommendations for inclusive education (cf. Ministry of Education) and in professional guidelines for inclusive practices and school context intervention for teachers and psychologists (cf. Ministry of Education; Order of Psychologists). She participated in national and international projects both as project coordinator (e.g. Read for fun, Fun to Read, Agrupamento de Escolas de Frazão, Erasmus), national expert (e.g. Inclusive Early Childhood Education project, European Agency for Special Needs and Inclusive Education) and research team member (e.g. EduGest, School management and school improvement, Universidade Católica Portuguesa; I am still learning: development of an online platform for the assessment and intervention in reading disabilities, Universidade do Minho). She presents advanced skills in data analysis, mainly in qualitative data. She is the author and co-author of several national and international publications with peer-review, participating in conferences and training courses. She is an expert consultant in the area of education and the management of educational projects.
