Miriam Thaler is a Ph.D. researcher in Cultural Studies at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon and was an FCT fellow from 2019-2023. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, Munich. She was a trainee at the exhibition center Ausstellungszentrum Lokschuppen Rosenheim where she was involved in the organization of several exhibitions (2013-14). As a Masters’ student, she specialized in Visual Anthropology & Ethnographic Film. For her Ph.D. project she is working on the current negotiations of Portuguese (post-)colonial memory. Her research interests are cultural identity, ideology, collective memory and museum studies.
